Considering the performance of webOS and its success in the market, HP finally seems to be shutting down webOS and a clear hint is the news to lay off 525 employees starting this week. “As communicated on August 18, HP will discontinue the development of webOs devices within the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2011, which ends Oct 31 2011,” HP confirmed. “As part of this decision, the webOS GBU is undergoing a reduction in workforce. HP TouchPad to sell for S$118 at Comex Singapore fire sale
Finally, after days of teasing folks here in Singapore, HP has revealed that it is selling the TouchPad at hugely-discounted prices of S$118 (16GB version) and S$188 (32GB version) from tomorrow. The fire sale will happen at the Comex tech bazaar starting tomorrow at Suntec Singapore. One hundred units of each version of the tablet will be available each day at the HP booth during the four-day event, and each person is allowed to buy just one unit.
